About Clamshell Buildings

Founded in 1983, the company manufactures clear-span, metal framed tension fabric buildings (Clamshelters®) for sale as pre-engineered building “kits” that are available in a large number of standard sizes. In addition to commercial applications, Clamshell Buildings supplies military customers with relocatable buildings such as the Large Area Maintenance Shelters (LAMS) used by the US Army and US Air Force for aircraft and large equipment shelters. The Company’s proprietary building designs are engineered to provide economical building solutions and to comply with building codes. Clamshell’s modular approach emphasizes commonality of components to minimize installation time and allow reconfiguration or additions to previous installations. From its location in Oxnard, California, the Company has nearby access to major ocean shipping and air terminal hubs in Los Angeles.
